Sense partners with electric meter manufacturers and electricity providers so you can monitor your home’s energy usage. The intelligence Sense provides helps you make choices that can save energy and reduce costs.
Why do I need to link Sense to my electricity provider?
For your security, Sense verifies your account with your provider to ensure no one else can connect to your electric meter.
What information is my electricity provider sharing with Sense?
By linking your provider account to Sense, you are directing us to receive details on your:
- Account: Account ID, Phone #, Email Address
- Property: Address, Meter ID
Sense uses this information to complete the setup of your electric meter. Sense may also use zip code to power energy insights in the app, such as home compare and carbon intensity. For more info on what it takes to connect with your Sense-enabled meter, read an overview of the setup process here: Getting started with Sense-enabled meter.
Why isn’t my electricity provider listed?
Sense supports a number of providers that are rolling out Sense-enabled meters, but this process takes time. If you want us to communicate your interest to your electricity provider, please record your preference here using the Feedback and Features option.
What if I don’t see my electricity provider?
You can get Sense even if your electricity provider has not yet installed a Sense-enabled meter. To purchase a Sense home energy monitor to install in your electrical panel, click here.
