When you set up the Sense Home app on your mobile phone or tablet, you'll create a Sense account and then securely link it to your electricity provider account. This connection allows Sense to deliver real-time insights into your energy use—helping you save money, reduce waste, and make smarter energy choices.
One of the key steps in setup is entering your electricity account number.
What Is My Account Number?
Your account number is a unique identifier assigned by your electricity provider. It typically includes:
-
5 to 20 numeric digits
-
Sometimes it may include letters or symbols—but during setup, Sense only requires the numeric portion
📌 Tip: If your account number includes letters, symbols, or dashes, just enter the numbers.
Where Can I Find My Account Number?
You’ll usually find your account number in one of these places:
-
At the top of your electricity bill (paper or digital)
-
In your electricity provider’s online portal or mobile app
-
In your welcome materials from your provider
Why Link My Utility Account to Sense?
Connecting your accounts helps:
-
Verify your identity securely
-
Link your Sense Home app to your smart meter data
-
Deliver accurate, personalized energy insights for your home
This step opens the line of communication between your home’s energy usage and the Sense Home app—so you can start seeing savings and better understand how your home uses electricity.
