National Grid has already begun to replace older electric meters with Sense-enabled meters in New York, and early access has been rolled out to a limited number of homes. Hold off on logging in until general availability is announced. |
You create your Sense account to get valuable reporting about your home's energy use. You'll link the Sense account to your utility account for Sense to help you see how your household uses electricity. This is done quite simply during the secure setup process. Just provide your electricity provider's account number -- the one they provided when you first created your account with them.
1. What is my account number?
Your account number is typically a 5-20 digit number assigned by your electricity provider to tie energy usage back to you. Every electricity provider uses a unique system, sometimes using letters before the numeric digits. Sense only asks for the numeric digits during setup, so you can omit any letters.
2. Where can I find my account number?
Your account number is usually located at the top of the statement you receive from your electricity provider via print mail or email. You can also log into your provider’s web portal or app to find the number.
