Sense is rolling out an exciting new way for users to access their home energy data using the Sense Home app.
Until recently, Sense was only available through Sense and Wiser Energy brand Home Energy Monitors that users install inside electrical panels.
Now, Sense’s technology will also be embedded in certain smart meters that will begin to roll out to consumers’ homes in late 2023. Currently there are announced deployments with National Grid in New York and Massachusetts and with Otter Tail Power in Minnesota and North Dakota. More states are planning to do the same. These deployments will take months or years to complete across each utility's coverage area. For more information on Sense’s plans for the future, check out this article from our CEO, Mike Phillips.
If you already have a Sense or Wiser Energy brand home monitor or a Sense-enabled electric meter, the Sense Home app experience is the same. Once your utility provides a Sense-enabled meter, you can choose to uninstall your monitor and start new, with new data through the meter. Unfortunately, we cannot transfer your historical data and devices to a new account, but you can download your data before migrating, to maintain a historical record. See this article on how to download data.
Attention solar users! Today, Sense Solar customers are encouraged to continue using their Sense Solar Monitor. The new generation of Sense-enabled electric meters will offer Solar coverage some time soon.
