Installation Instructions
Ethernet
Instructions
Connecting the Sense monitor to your home router with an ethernet cable will put your system into a wired setup. As an alternative to a 2.4Ghz wireless connection, Sense can be connected to your network via an ethernet cable. Please note: Even in a wired setup, Sense will still need both consistent internet access as well as a Bluetooth connection for initial setup. The Bluetooth connection will require the wireless antenna to be installed.
Advanced installations (solar, generator, 400A) are fully compatible with wired connections.
01 Install ethernet knockout cable
After you’ve installed the wireless antenna, punch out another knockout cover in the main panel. Insert the panel-mount end of the ethernet knockout cable from inside the panel to outside the panel via the knockout.
02 Connect to monitor
Connect the power cable, current sensors, ethernet knockout cable, and antenna to the Sense monitor. Be sure to insert the sensor into the outer port.
03 Attach ethernet cable
Connect your home ethernet cable to the panel-mount end of the ethernet knockout cable.
