Viewing your energy usage in the context of your electricity billing cycle can help you better understand how device usage contributes to your bill.
You can also define Time of Use (TOU) periods to align with your utility’s pricing structure.
How to Add a Billing Cycle in the Sense Mobile App
1️⃣ Go to Settings > Electricity Info and tap Billing Cycle Start Day
2️⃣ Select the day of the month your billing cycle begins. When you set the date, it will save automatically. You can leave the screen knowing your details are saved.
Now, when you visit your Dashboard and check the Usage card, your energy consumption and production will reflect your billing cycle.
📌 Note: Billing cycle settings are currently only available in the mobile app.
How to Add Time of Use (TOU) Periods
1️⃣ Navigate to Settings > Electricity Info > Time of Use Periods and tap Add New
2️⃣ Fill out the form to customize your TOU settings, including:
✅ Receive alerts when entering a specific cost period
✅ Name one or more cost periods
✅ Set the cost per kWh (cents/kWh)
✅ Adjust start & end dates for each period
✅ Choose days of the week (if applicable)
✅ Set start & end times per period
