Welcome! If your electricity provider has both installed a Sense-enabled smart meter and told you your home is ready to connect, you're just a few steps away from tracking your energy use in real time.
Before starting, confirm that your smart meter is eligible to connect to Sense. This means that:
- Your electricity provider has installed a new smart meter at your home
- They have then advised that you can now connect to Sense
- Your home is a single family home with Wi-Fi connectivity
- Your meter is updated to the latest software version (see "NOTE" below on how to check this)
Then, gather the following:
A valid email address to use on your Sense account
A smartphone or tablet (Android 9+ or iOS 16+) (required for Sense setup)
Your electricity provider’s name
The account or phone number you have on file with your provider
- Your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password
NOTE: Once you download the app and start setup, there will be a check to ensure your meter’s software is up-to-date. If it is outdated, you will see the following message and will be notified once a software update is applied to your meter:
