“What do I do if I want to disable or change the Dedicated Circuit I’m monitoring?”
To disable the devices being tracked with Dedicated Circuit Monitoring and not monitor new devices, contact our Support team at sense.com/contact.
To change the devices being tracked with Dedicated Circuit Monitoring, navigate to Settings > My Home > Connected Devices and restart the Dedicated Circuit setup process under Data Sources.
Note that in both cases, your Dedicated Circuit devices will not be automatically deleted. You can manually delete them via Device Settings for each device.
“What happens if I use Dedicated Circuit Monitoring on a device that Sense has already detected?”
If you are using Dedicated Circuit Monitoring on a device that Sense has completely (or partially) detected, you need to inform Sense via the Sense app. Otherwise, your device will be double-counted. Navigate to the new device and select “What’s Being Monitored” to tell Sense that your Dedicated Circuit is monitoring a detected device.
“Will Sense remember my devices if I remove Dedicated Circuit Monitoring?”
Your circuit must be a sensor persistently connected to it in order to be detected by Sense as a Dedicated Circuit device. If you remove the sensor, Sense will no longer see the device.
“Can I switch from one middle port feature to Dedicated Circuit Monitoring?”
400A Split-Service/Generators
For 400A split-service and generators, users can switch to Dedicated Circuit Monitoring. To disable an existing middle port functionality, contact our Support team.
Solar
If your solar connection is a line-side tap, but the sensors on the mains are placed before the line-side tap, reach out to our Support team to disable your set-up and verify your configuration is set-up correctly.
If your solar is breaker-fed into your panel, you will need to continue to monitor Solar in order to see accurate usage data in-app.
“Why are my wattage numbers incorrect?”
Inaccurate wattage from dedicated circuit devices could indicate that there is an:
- Installation issue: Sensors around the dedicated circuits could be loose or not completely closed, causing an issue with the wattage numbers received by Sense.
- Incorrect circuit type: Installation set-up is dependent on the type of 120V/240V dedicated circuit devices being monitored. Incorrect wattage for dedicated circuit devices could be due to the incorrect circuit set-up configuration. - Previous detection issues: If your dedicated circuit device has been previously detected by Sense and is not merged after set-up, the device (or component of a device) could be double-counted in your overall wattage.

"Can I used Dedicated Circuit Monitoring to monitor a branch circuit?"
Dedicated Circuit Monitoring is designed to monitor circuits dedicated to a single device. Using Dedicated Circuit Monitoring with a branch circuit can negatively affect detection for devices on that circuit and may result in inaccurate wattage or double counting.
“Is there a limit to the number of circuits I can monitor with Dedicated Circuit?”
Users with Dedicated Circuit Monitoring can monitor up to two 120V or 240V circuits.
