Use this checklist if you're having trouble connecting your Sense-enabled smart meter or Sense monitor to Wi-Fi.
1. Run a Network Connection Test
☐ Open the Sense Home app
☐ Go to: Settings > System > Network Connection Test
☐ Review any diagnostics or error messages
☐ Follow the suggested troubleshooting steps provided in the app
2. Check Signal Strength
☐ Ensure Sense is 5–20 feet from your Wi-Fi router or access point
☐ Use a mobile app to test Wi-Fi signal strength near your Sense device
☐ Confirm signal strength is between -65dB and -75dB
☐ If signal is weak:

☐ Move your router closer

☐ Or add a Wi-Fi extender or access point
Search “Wi-Fi Signal Strength” in your app store or ask Sense Support for a recommendation
3. Verify Network Settings
☐ If you have multiple routers or mesh points, ensure the closest one uses a unique SSID
☐ Check that Sense is connecting to the correct 2.4GHz network
☐ If your desired network isn’t listed:

☐ Enter the SSID and password manually
